SYSTEMS OF ELECTROCHEMICAL CORROSION PROTECTION
Hot and cold tap water, central heating and technological heat installations are especially the subject to
the destructive activity of corrosion. In Poland it attacks the water pipelines and equipment at extremely fast and
aggressive way, causing their reduced efficiency and increasing the probability of their failure in short period of time.
This leads to a total loss of such installations and to a necessity of their expensive and burdensome replacement.
In fact the water installations are the most threatened field of the building industry's infrastructure, due to their highly
expensive and frequent need of reconstruction. However, we are not helpless in the face of corrosion that attacks and destroys

The systems of electrochemical corrosion protection are the most reliable and effective means of prolonging the vitality
and exploatational efficiency of the hydraulic systems in the Polish building industry.
In this method we take advantage of the electrochemical processes by applying the aluminum anode in an especially designed
reactor. All the programmed reactions are controlled by the polarizing device.
The protective effect of the electrochemical processes applied by LEMAT
on the hydraulic systems has two ways of action:
firstly -
the quality of the water is improved, treated water is thus less corrosive in causing corrosion. Consequently, the speed of the
corrosion is drastically decreased;
secondly -
inside the pipelines an elastic protective layer is created,
effectively isolating the installation from the corrosive factors. The protective layer secures the installation from
corrosion and creating boiler scale and helps to retain the clarity of the sections and full efficiency of the installation
for many years.
The effectiveness of this corrosion protection system is shown on the sections of the pipelines
pictured below. These sections were cut from the installations, which are subject to everyday intensive attacks of corrosion
and from the installations protected by the LEMAT electrochemical systems.

The protective layer is made on the base of aluminium hydroxide and is characterised by strong absorbing abilities. Thanks
to these abilities the layer can bind and remove from the water a large amount of harmful and unwanted iron compounds and
heavy metals ions.

ELECTROCHEMICAL CORROSION PROTECTION DEVICE IN HOT AND COLD WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM
The major weakness of the metal installations is their big susceptibility to corrosion. This concerns the hot tap water
pipelines, because in the temperature over 50°C the corrosion processes are quickened.
That is why metal installations require a durable and reliable strengthening to make them stay in good shape for a longer
